I subscribe to a magazine called
MORE and every edition is full of "THIS is what 40 looks like, THIS is what 50 looks like", etc.
So, seeing as I'm 60 years old today, I forced Em to take a few photos of me in the "great" outdoors of our front yard. After he went through the "I don't see anything in the viewfinder", blah, blah...I posed and he clicked.
This is what 60 looks like.
(and #1 is baking me a cake).
Hope y'all are having a great day, too!

nice lawn
Yeah, what anon said up there.
Ya look good for any age! But I only noticed that after I was finally able to tear my eyes off of your perfectly manicured lawn which, as you know, is the exact opposite of mine. Wow.
Happy birthday!!!!
We've had a LOT of rain lately, so EVERYTHING looks plush green.
No. 2's arriving today for a short visit. Not sure whether I'll see her or not today, so once I got sheets clean for her I kept going on my interest of the week, which is lowering our impact.
There's gonna be a concerted effort by a number of bloggers to spend a week lowering impact beginning June 1, but I'm old, need a little headstart on these things;I started 2 days ago.
Did I mention that we bought a dishwasher last week? The old one had been broken for maybe 7 years and we didn't mind using the shell as an expensive dish rack, but with the Energy Star appliances it's actually more efficient to let the machine do the dishes. So, we got one.
Hope No. 2 doesn't mind that this week I'm testing keeping windows open versus AC. I haven't turned the AC off, but set the trigger temp to 89. Also recorded the electric and gas meter numbers so I can start monitoring usage trying to correlate with usage. Em's onboard with anything that might save us money, but he understood ceiling fans to be only useful when you're in the room and my understanding is that they're pushing those breezes from the window around the house, using very little electricity if on the lowest speed. So, we'll see.
Somebody came out and fixed our neighbor's fence. I guess that's good, but the neighbor's fence now extends about 6 feet forward from where our fences joined. So, I don't know how we can affix our fence to his with no post on that side. Guess I'll let Em worry about that. We still have a 6 foot section where our yard is open to every meandering animal in the neighborhood. Bleh!
You don't look 60 at all- Good for you!
You know what would have been a great thing to do on your birthday, accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, that would, and still can be the greatest gift of all. The gift of salvation is free if you just ask Jesus to come into your life.
God Bless and Happy Birthday.
